South East Dance is an arts charity that works with dance professionals and people across the region to make the South East a thriving home for dance. They were established in 1997, becoming a member of the UK Dance Network and an Arts Council England Regularly Funded Organisation in 2000, extending their role to work nationally and internationally.
After many years of advocating for a dedicated ‘home for dance’, this dream was finally realised in 2022. The Dance Space was launched as part of the new development at Circus Street in Brighton – a welcoming home for any body and every body to explore, create and enjoy dance.
Specifying and supplying furniture for such an iconic and sustainably built space was a privilige!
The brief
Having worked with Rose Kigwana, Senior Producer and Designated Safeguarding Officer, at South East Dance’s previous workplace, we were really pleased to be approached again to help with the new space.
We were asked to provide comfortable and accessible meeting room chair options, for different areas throughout the space as well as desks and ergonomic task chairs for the office area.
The approach
With a strong colour palette of burnt orange, greens and dark wood defined from the start, we were able to present several meeting room options to fulfil the brief.
The final choice offers a distinctive mid century feel, whist also being comfortable and practical.
Electric standing desks in white were were installed in the office area, as well as ergonomic mesh back task chairs in black.
The client said…
“Posture People/ Love Your Workspace were recommended to us. We have found them very helpful throughout the whole process of planning and kitting out our offices and meeting rooms. They listened to what we needed and provided us with options. We are very happy with the furniture and the service they have provided us. Almost every time someone new comes into our board room they compliment us on our beautiful orange meeting room chairs that go perfectly with our vibrant retro industrial vibe.
I am so glad we were able to find the right people for us, local with great sustainability, quality and accessibility values, a perfect match for us!”
