Why Freeflow?
Senator set out to answer a fundamental question: how can people sit better for longer? Through conversations with ergonomists and occupational physicians, they recognised that the human body isn’t built for prolonged sitting, and that poor posture or extended periods of sitting are major contributors to back pain.
This insight inspired Senator to develop a chair that supports continuous, intuitive movement, helping users stay active whilst seated. Inspiration Behind the Design
The distinctive design of the Freeflow chair is inspired by the counter-rotating movement of a fish. A fluid, balanced motion that allows for continuous adaptation. Senator translated this design through the flexible design and movement system, and Auto-Adaptec® technology, which allows the chair to react to each users posture and body movements organically.
The Auto-Adaptec® technology adjusts automatically in real time to support the users posture, eliminating knobs, levers or complicated settings. Whether someone is leaning forward to focus or reclining to think, the chair moves with them. This technology ensures the user receives the right support at every angle.
The nature inspiration is further shown through FinTec® technology. This is a series of innovative, flexible polycarbonates that are built into the back of the chair. It allows the chair to flex both horizontally and vertically, meaning the chair responds to all users’ posture naturally.
